There is just something so profoundly centering and nurturing about being seen and supported by other women. It’s like coming home…
What I have learned over the past year and a half, is that women thrive when they support each other. I learned this when my world turned upside down and I realized I needed multiple circles of women to help me regain my balance. I sought assistance and grounding from my male friends and family members as well, but there is just something so profoundly centering and nurturing about being seen and supported by other women. It’s like coming home…
I am eternally grateful for the upheaval that forced me to reach out to my “sisters” in a way that I had not been willing to in the past. As I sunk into the deliciously sweet feminine mothering energy that circled around me this year, I noticed that something had gone missing over the years as I had drifted away into self-reliance. There is nothing wrong with being strong and being able to handle a lot, but it really isn’t necessary to do it all alone.
Considering my own experience, I could see how my experience is reflective of a wider societal pattern of women drifting away from relying on circles of “sisters” to help maneuver the challenges of day-to-day living. Over indexing our masculine energy to do and have it all has created an underlying sense of isolation and overwhelm. But it does not have to be that way. Women can provide each other a unique type of nurturing and challenge that makes us even stronger and more balanced.
I am not the only one realizing this. All around me, women – family, friends and colleagues – have been circling up and experiencing tremendous healing and support that has contributed to their thriving.
As a result of our own personal experience of being transformed through the support of women, I along with my friend and colleague, Donna Placio, founded Women Leading With Love (WLWL). Through our many offerings, including women’s circles, we seek to support women in bringing their masculine and feminine energies back into balance by living and learning together.
We are beginning our next round of women circles set to start in November. If you are interested in learning to thrive within the support of committed group of women, learn more about our women’s circles here.
Registration closes on November 10 for our Chicago based women’s circles, which is a hybrid mix of virtual and in-person meetings. So, be sure to reserve your place here.
If you are not local and would be interested in circles that meet exclusively in a virtual format, please let us know and we can discuss how to create a circle that works for you.
